"When artisans craft things with all their love, their hopes and dreams are transmitted to their works and the creations end up with souls."
- Baron Humbert von Gikkingen
The Baron's Tea House is named after a character named Baron Humbert von Gikkingen in a story called
The Cat Returns (Walt Disney and Studio Ghibli film created by Hayao Miyazaki and directed by Hiroyuki Morita). The Baron is an artisan created cat statue that came to life in The Cat Returns as the owner of the Cat Bureau, which handles cases in a mysterious world. The Baron is a sophisticated cat dressed in a top hat, tuxedo and cane. He can often be found in the Cat Bureau serving tea and having tea parties. He has a special blend of tea that is different every time, but is very good. Look for the Baron around here, you never know when he may appear.
The Baron's Tea House is owned by Kurt and Erica Teets. Their daughter, Richelle, took a liking to the Baron and inspired the name of the Tea House. Erica and Richelle have an interest in Japanese tea, culture and language and watch Japanese anime films such as The Cat Returns.
